My brother is enjoying himself in Munich. He has figured out real fast that sparkling water is a big thing there. Besides beer, if you want water, you'll probably end up with sparkling water unless you want to try to explain your head off that you want "regular" water. And also it's 50 cents to use a public toilet! I thought that was slightly unusual. And like, every hotel there has a "Biergarden" or a bar as we call them. Every street corner has one practically. So really you don't have to walk far to get some booze. Well the Germans are famous for there beer, so that seems to make sense, however a bunch of college students staying in a hotel with beer just around the corner doesn't bring up much in the way of pleasant thoughts...
I LOVE to travel, and now that I think about it, I have traveled a lot. Including my first plane trip when I was under a year old and I have had at least 20 or so since then. I have also been to Vancouver Canada, but I was only 2 yrs of age so, I really don't remember much. I have also been by car, to, Gettysburg, D.C., Wyoming (twice) Kansas, Seattle WA, Boston, Florida, a bunch of times to Illinois and Michigan and Ohio (almost uncountable!). So I shouldn't really have anything to complain about. Last year we did a whole month of traveling, we drove 8000 miles in less then a month and saw both the pacific and the Atlantic oceans! It was pretty cool, however the drive to the west coast was like 3, 16 hour days to get there!! Anyway, it was fun though. Any of you had any cool trips? Anybody driven as much as me in the car? A few years back, we drove "non-stop" to the Rockies in Colorado. That means, we left at like 5 in the evening, drove through the night, and arrived at our destination at 4 PM the next day. Kinda tiring. Traveling is quite fun (I've been to all but 8 of the states...), but with busier summers, I haven't been anywhere exceedingly cool for awhile (save for ECHO). Speaking about traveling, Patrick's coming home from Phoenix and my younger brother Joel's coming home from Pennsylvania tomorrow afternoon. It'll be hectic...

you have both been in quite a few sates more than I have, but when it comes to traveling, I think I have you both whooped. It helps to live over seas... I have been to North America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. My craziest trip was by plane: a solid 12 hours. Not fun.
well, i've bn 2 Disney World every Spring Break since idk when, and this year, i'm going w/ r marching band! we're flying, and i haven't flown since, like, 3rd grade, so i'm a little nervous about it!
ya graham, i was pretty sure you would beat us all in air travel, but what about car travel? how much of that have u done? well, i guess u prolly have driven all across asia and africa anyway...
well clara, i guess it helps to know that air travel is like the safest way to travel, really, prolly even more then walking...well...maybe...
Gosh, I haven't traveled half as much as any of you people! I've never flown in a plane (except a really small one that went over greenwood, but I dunno if that counts), although I have been in a car for more then 14 hours (not including ECHO). That's so cool you went on such a long road trip!! I would love to just take a whole summer and zig zag through the country.
My roommate, Tony, usually stops in Frankfurt, Germany, on his way between Pennsylvania and his home in Cyprus. Apparently, in Germany, as in most of the rest of Europe, you need only be eighteen years old to buy alcoholic drinks.
I've not travelled that much by car. The longest trips I've had, other than ECHO, are two trips to Baton Rouge, one to central Minnesota (the International Conference used to be held there), and one to New England.
Andrew, I must say, you have done a bit of traveling. However, in my opinion, a true cross-country trip would be the MOST fun in a small helicopter or airplane, not a car. Does sound fun though!
You know, that first paragraph reminds me of our Latin course, "In Vino Veritas" (hehe).
I LOVE travelling to death. One time when you guys are coming back from Seattle, instead of driving through Iowa, the state of perfect nothingess, you should stop by our house on I-90 and see the Minnesota and Wisconsin route. You'd like it. Instead of a corn field you'd see prairie, hills, trees, rocks, believe me, it's a lot more interesting than Iowa.
As far as car rides go the farthest west I've been is Colorado, the farthest east I've been is Indiana, the farthest south I've been in Kentucky. But flying the farthest south I've been in Florida, farthest east is Georgia, farthest west is Sioux Falls South Dakota, as well as farthest north. Our Colorado trip that one year was a blast, but we liked coming back to Lafayette to see you guys the best of all family vacations we've ever had.
well, mary, u just need to convince your parents that a big road trip is a necessity, they are really fun...
ya nathaniel, u can drink at 18 there, which doesn't leave any more pleseant thoughts then the college students...
well isaac, i would definitely like to go cross country in a small airplane or something like that, it's just slightly cheeper to drive and little more practical...heh

haha, well, i guess there's something to be said about people's priorities nowadays, i would rather go to sweden then florida anyday...just money does happen to get in the way of things...
