My most obvious and desperate needs...

Some other bloggers have gotten the idea of finding their most desperate needs off a Google search. Type in your name + needs into a google search and before your very eyes all your deep needs and desires will unfold right in front of you...anyway here are my results...

1 Andrew needs a belt (no comment)
2 Andrew needs sleep...badly (yeah, probably true...well, I don't know about the "badly" part)
3 Andrew needs more work (absolutely...not!, I have enough work as it is...)
4 Andrew needs a railway (Yes!! I must have my railway, you all must donate to me to make this happen!!!)
5 Andrew needs some love thrown his way (ok, this is like, right on!! jk!!)
6 Andrew needs some consoling after the poor exchange photo (yeah, that was a horrible photo)
7 Andrew needs support the most (definitely!!)
8 Andrew needs all the prayers he can get (that too)
9 Andrew needs a safe surfing guide (what the?!?!?!)
10 Andrew needs to pay his fair share of the war effort (hey!! who's saying I need to pay up for something, who do they think they are?!?!?)

Well, there you are, my most pressing needs. Check it out for yourself and see what YOU come up with...

Basketball!!

I had a basketball game last night and I have another one tonight. Last night we (THE Tippecanoe Tornadoes (a home school basketball team that my parents helped start in Lafayette)) played the Indy wildcats with their star player Joel Hart!!! well, maybe not, but he does play pretty well. But Joel couldn't drag his brothers up for the game though, which was thoroughly disappointing! The game was quite exciting...well, for the first half at least but the wildcats pulled away at the end. They also had a slight advantage, with some height on there side which, of course, tends to aid the team quite extensively...Anyway, twas a good game. The junior boys actually hung in there for a while and actually had a shot at winning the game but they couldn't pull it off either. The most discouraging aspect of it all was the fact that I am still on injured reserve...Yes, believe it or not I am still on injured reserve. I haven't played at all this season so it gets slightly...well ok, majorly discouraging at times to sit on the bench and watch everybody else play. And here I am remembering that fatal day about a year and half ago. It was early in the season last year; we had only played two games so far. I was in practice scrimmaging with the team. Actually we had a game the next day as well. Anyway all of practice had gone real well and we were nearing the end. With about 2 min till the end of practice I was driving hard to the hoop and shot a short jumper. However in the process of jumping I collided with one of our big guys. Knocked off balance, I landed hard on my left leg. And that, ladies and gentlemen, started the whole thing. My knee twisted around somehow and I was down. I apparently had severely pulled some muscle in the knee which kept the knee from twisting in the socket, so that put me out for a while. However, I was able to play again in the spring as my knee healed up. So then summer went by and ECHO and covmakoi and other activities went by and I found myself playing soccer in the fall. My knee was well healed and I didn't need a brace anymore. I was well passed the point of sitting on the bench and watching the game go on! I was done with knee injury stuff...well...for the moment. However, the time of action was to be soon cut short. In one of our last games of soccer, I jumped up to head the ball and I came down a little awkward, and on my left knee...Again!! And so I had the same exact injury I had a year earlier. And so here I am again sitting on the bench and watching my team play. However this time my knee seams to have forgotten how to heal itself so it is taking at least twice as long to heal. Well that is my story...exciting huh. No matter how exciting it is it still drives me totally crazy sitting on the bench all the time!! If you guys could pray that God would grant me patience I would much appreciate it. Anyway I gotta go cheer on my team!! ttya all later...

Go Ye Therefore...

Yes!! Our family has finally decided to be a part of the new church we are a starting in West Lafayette. I am so excited to be able to participate in it! The group officially starts tonight with our first meeting/bible study. For the first couple months we will meet on Wednesday nights and Pastor Olivetti will be using the time to train us how to plant and begin a church. During the fall we will start doing community bible studies and other activities like that. Later, after we have constructed bible studies around the city we will merge them at some time and hopefully start worshipping together on Sundays, but we have no idea when that will be starting...For me personally I am really looking forward to the planting process; for a while I have been interested in missions, and this is a good way to find out more about it. If you guys could pray for us as we and the rest of the group (officially called "the core group") train for the ministry and for the success of the work we all would greatly appreciate it. As I write, the words of Matthew are still ringing in my head, "go ye therefore and preach to all the nations baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit". I may not be going to Australia...but we are going and forming a new work. I never really thought that even before I graduate from college I would be living out this verse! Well, time runs short so I better move on to other matters of importance...ttyl

A weekend to remember...

Argh!! I am so tired. After a speech and debate tournament on Friday and Saturday and a trip to Indy on Sunday I wonder how much school is actually going to happen today...For the speech and debate tourney, I had four rounds of debate on medical malpractice. And I really don't know anything about medical malpractice, so that made it slightly interesting! One debate round lasts like 1 and a half hours and they squished three of them in before dinner! So we were all majorly starved after round 3. Finally after coming home at like, midnight I had to get up at 6:30 in the morning and go over to the church to set up. Then speech rounds started and believe me, I was really tired!! One type of speech I had to do was impromptu where they gave me a topic and I had 2 min. To prepare a 5 min. Speech. On top of that there were 60 kids competing in impromptu alone!! So compition was really tough! However the awards cermony went really well, and i place 3rd in impromptu so that was encouraging ( i was shocked, really, i didn't think i would make the top ten!) anyway as soon as speech was over i went to a recital thing and accompanied a friend on the violin and then I got home at about midnight...again! Then the next day i travelled to southside for my first ever service there! (so now i can't use "i never been to a service at southside before" for the game "i never"... and that was a good one too!!) Anyway sending out the Blackwoods was a time of mixed emotions, sadness, hysterics, food, Mr. Blackwoods great speeches, crying (well, i really think there was more crying after ECHO...well...in a way...) pictures, good pics, ok pics, and then there are...Zachs pics, hugging, dragging siblings away from the church (literally), and a lot of other interesting events. We will all definitely miss the Blackwoods! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week!!
