Well, the blog contest started a couple days ago so I am a little behind, but oh well, the contest won't take over my life...yet..
anyway, here's some interesting stuff I got from someone, whether it's true or whether half of it is some random persons opinion, I couldn't tell ya, but it's interesting all the same...

Many years ago in Scotland, a new game was invented.
It was ruled "Gentlemen Only
..Ladies Forbidden"
...and thus the word GOLF
entered into the English language.

In the 1400's a law was
set forth that a man was
not allowed to beat his wife
with a stick no thicker than
his thumb. Hence we have
"the rule of thumb"

National Monuments.

Each king in a deck of
playing cards represents
a great king from history:

If a statue in the park of
a person on a horse has
both front legs in the air,
the person died in battle.
If the horse has one front
leg in the air the person
died as a result of wounds
received in battle.
If the horse has all four
legs on the ground, the
person died of natural
causes.

Only two people signed
the Declaration of
Independence on July 4th,
John Handcock and Charles Thomson!
Most of the rest signed on August 2,
but the last signature wasn't
added until 5 years later.

In English pubs, ale is ordered
by pints and quarts... So in old
England, when customers got
unruly, the bartender would
yell at them "Mind your pints
and quarts, and settle down."
It's where we get the phrase
"mind your P's and Q's"

That comment was not mine on your blog, BJ - the profile's a fraud. As for the Edomites site, we took it down to fix the template and stuff...

I've heard a few of those, but others were new. Some, I fear, are incorrect, such as the Ps and Qs. I believe that this phrase came from printers, who had to remember which blocks were P and Q, since the letters would be reversed.

Well I do know for a fact that about 90% of it atleast is true, I don't know about the rest.
Andrew, did you get that forward titled "weirdness" that I sent you? it was pretty incredable.

I have heard most of it, but whether or not its true... different story. I love the last one, because it gives me an excuse to spell horribly.
