Of Banquets and technology...

Well, one of the biggest things coming up for me is a banquet which my mom is pretty much in charge of...and we are serving like, 120 people so, it's big, and there's a lot of stuff to do!! It's for our home school basketball program. I am in charge of doing the power point presentation, so I spent like 4 hours today trying to get it at least half way done. I have to get all the pics of all the teams together, alphabetize them, size them, and stick them on some template that looks half way decent. Then once I have all the names and pics together, then I add in the animation. And the animation is confusing because there are a bunch of ways to do it. You can animate the whole slide or just the words or letters or pics and stuff. And there are a hundred different animations too. It's just a LOT of work to do one power point!! It may seem easy enough but it is actually very time consuming...if you want it done well that is.

I thought I might delve into the world of technology just a bit. Purdue has a brand knew nanotechnology building and believe me, some of the stuff they are researching is unimaginable!!
1. They have found out how to create seamless screens. Basically, imagine taking your computer screen out of it's frame and crumpling it into a small ball and stuffing it into a film canister. Then the next day pulling it out and putting it back in your computer. With the new screens they would still be seamless, with absolutely no creases. The possibilities are endless. They can make DVD players the size of an ipod and just have an expandable screen. They can make portable 16 and 20 and 30 inch TV's. It's quite amazing.
2. Purdue has also found out away to liquefy a TV screen so that you can literally "paint" it on a wall. You can make it as big as the whole wall or just your normal size. The molecules in the paint align themselves when you brush it on. I am assuming it uses wireless electrical current to run, but still, to be able to "paint your TV screen" on a wall? Pretty crazy. Think of our grandkid's toys!!!
Anybody else know of some sweet technology out there? It's everywhere, the unthinkable is happening. It's mindboggling!

Because of our disagreement in sports opinions, I figured I would end this post with this quote...

"Opinions are like armpits...everyone has one, and they all stink" ~Mr. Johns

yeah, the technology stuff confused me too. The quote is good. You should post something that has all your favorite quotes. I have a bunch of mine on my AOL info.
