I'm Back!!!
Wow, I can't describe how absolutely amazing this trip was! The 3 weeks went something like this.
The first week we had lectures on church history, evangelism, theology etc. The second week we went out to different churches in groups of 6 or so, and actually put to practice what we learned and then the last week was a wrap up of different lectures and discussion of the second week. Also thrown in we toured a little bit of Pittsburgh, saw a Pirates game, saw fireworks and got to make some amazing friendships with people from all over the states. The missions we did on the second week were incredible. We did a VBS, we ran a prayer booth thing, did some street evangelism type stuff, and other things like that. The church I stayed at was in inner city Wilkensburg, which is on the far east end of Pittsburgh. The neighborhood is pretty scary, with some violence happening only blocks away from the church, but besides that we enjoyed staying at the church and getting to know the kids at the VBS. All in all, everything added up to a phenomenal 3 weeks. Definitely the most amazing, challenging, and encouraging 3 weeks of my life.
Well, now I am back and already working at a concession stand for our county fair. Making lemon shake-ups and elephant ears, which is a radical change from listening to lectures and goofing off with friends in Pittsburgh...oh and another thing, I am attempting to get contacts. The story goes like this...In Pittsburgh while we were at a drive in theatre watching pirates 2, I got assaulted by someone with a water balloon. he hit me in the back of the head and broke my glasses...now, you try to explain to me how you can break someone's glasses by throwing a water balloon at the back the head! However it happened, it made for an interesting 3rd week at TFY...
Well, the first half of my summer has past and now, part 2 is coming on. There's a lot of stuff coming up like, vacation, planning out school, working, etc. We'll see how well I survive the rest of the summer...

It's finally here!!! A 3 week youth conference trip/missions trip in Pittsburgh. It'll be great!! We'll get to see Pittsburgh fireworks (which are supposed to be really cool!) and I'll also be there during my birthday so, it'll be fun! I don't have much time to post but, there's plenty of time for comments...lol. Maybe if there's internet connection up there I can post more. I am leaving tomorrow morning at 6 so, I need to get back to packing...take care...
